It is Monsoon‘s 40th anniversary, and to mark this season’s special Heritage Collection, Yasmin Le Bon and daughter Amber have been chosen to embody the Monsoon woman of spring/summer 2013.
The images were shot last November by Anders Overgaard in Rajasthan, India, which served as the backdrop for the brand’s first collection in 1973. Monsoon began out of Rajasthan through the sale of hand-lot printed clothes that were made in neighboring villages. The Heritage Collection reflects these roots, as many of the pieces in the collection feature hand-lot printing, embroidery, batik, and natural cottons and silks from India and particularly from Rajasthan.
View behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot and learn more about how the Heritage Collection was produced in this video, narrated by Monsoon founder Peter Simon. (It is a large file [159 mb], so if you’d rather not wait and aren’t particular about the quality, check it out at The Daily Mail’s You Magazine. For that reason, please download it and do not watch it on the website!)

You can also view all the images from the Monsoon spring/summer 2013 Lookbook on Yasmin’s website.
Many kind thanks to Monsoon for providing the images and video.
