Yasmin and Simon Le Bon support Comic Relief *updated*

UPDATED 17th March 2013: The Blue Steel Appeal auctions have ended.  The highest bid on the dog walk with the Le Bons was £3,433.00 (just over €4000 and US$5000); and Yasmin’s Temperley dress, £240.90 (about €282 and US$364).  Both auctions raised a total of £3679.90 to benefit Red Nose Day and Comic Relief.  Congratulations to the winners!

Male model and spokesman David Gandy has recruited many of his fashionable friends to donate items and unique experiences for Blue Steel Appeal in benefit of Comic Relief, a charity endeavor dedicated to changing lives across the UK and Africa through the power of entertainment.

Yasmin and her three dogs

The Le Bons have donated an opportunity for a very exclusive meet and greet, in which the winner can spend an hour with the couple while walking their dogs through London’s beautiful Richmond Park.  100% of the final sale price will benefit Comic Relief.  You can place your bid on eBay.

Yasmin has also donated one of her Temperley dresses, modeled in this photo by the lovely Amber Le Bon.  Bid on it on eBay.

The auctions run through March 17th, and Gandy promises that new items will be added on a regular basis.

Yasmin in Asia

After spending some time working in Udaipar, India late last month, Yasmin made a few public appearances.

Later that month, she travelled to the eastern end of the continent to attend the private viewing of Chanel’s The Little Black Jacket exhibition at the Beyond Museum in Seoul, South Korea (where it will remain open to the public through December 12th).  Yasmin attended the launch of the exhibition in London last month.  Check out interview clips with Yasmin and other guests at the private view in Seoul on the Chanel website.

Yasmin and Laura Whitmore for Avon’s Breast Cancer Crusade

Yasmin and Laura Whitmore, Avon’s Breast Cancer Crusade Ambassadors, support Avon’s Breast Promise.  In a video where Yasmin and Laura model their customized bra t-shirts, she speaks about her commitment to the Breast Cancer Crusade:

“It’s an easy thing to feel passionate about.  I think it has affected so many people; and for me and my family, it affected us in quite a dramatic way.  I lost my mother to breast cancer, so it’s a very personal issue for me.”

She also discusses her earliest memories of Avon through her mother, who was an Avon lady, and encourages all women to make a breast self-check part of a regular beauty routine.

You can watch the video and make your own promise to support fighting breast cancer on Avon’s website.  For every promise made, Avon will allocate £1 or €1 to Avon Breast Cancer Crusade, plus you will automatically be entered into a drawing to win your own celebrity t-shirt.  (UK and Republic of Ireland entrants only.)
